How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mid-Level Database Developer

    Location: Canary Wharf, London (Hybrid: 2–3 days in office)
    Salary: £50,000

    About EuroABS

    EuroABS is a data-centric financial services company specialising in the processing and publication of structured data within the securitisation market. Our clients include major banks and mortgage providers who must comply with regulatory reporting standards set by organisations such as the Bank of England and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).

    Our systems handle large volumes of financial data where accuracy, consistency, and auditability are critical.

    The Role

    We are seeking a Database Developer to join a small Agile team working across both new and existing data processing systems.

    This is a hands-on role combining SQL development, data investigation, and production support. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to diagnose issues, implement fixes, and improve the reliability and performance of our data platforms.

    Typical split:

    * ~60% development and optimisation

    * ~30% data investigation and support

    * ~10% tooling and process improvement

    Responsibilities

    * Develop, maintain, and optimise SQL-based data processing solutions

    * Investigate and resolve data issues raised by internal users

    * Perform data validation, cleansing, and correction across large datasets

    * Troubleshoot production issues and deploy fixes

    * Improve performance of queries, transformations, and database structures

    * Contribute to ongoing improvements in data pipelines and internal tooling

    Skills and Experience

    Required:

    * 3+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server

    * Strong T-SQL skills (query writing, performance tuning, indexing)

    * Experience with Azure SQL Database

    * Experience handling structured data (CSV, XML)

    * Experience using Git for source control

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly with data anomalies

    Desirable:

    * Experience working in Azure environments (e.g. storage, data services)

    * Familiarity with CI/CD or DevOps practices

    * PowerShell or scripting experience

    * Experience working in Agile teams

    * Exposure to financial or regulatory data

    What You’ll Be Working On

    * Processing and validating large-scale loan-level datasets

    * Investigating discrepancies in financial reporting data

    * Optimising SQL pipelines handling millions of records

    * Supporting internal users with data-related queries and issues

    Benefits

    * Annual discretionary bonus scheme

    * Hybrid working (2–3 days per week in Canary Wharf)

    * 25 days annual leave

    * Opportunity to work on complex, high-integrity financial data systems

    Additional Information

    This role is suited to someone comfortable working across both development and support in a data-focused environment. Candidates should be strong communicators, with good common sense, and the ability to decide whether they can solve a problem with what they have, or whether they need to ask for more information. Candidates should be confident working independently, diagnosing issues, and engaging with internal stakeholders to resolve data problems.

    You must have right to work in the UK for this role, EuroABS does not sponsor work visas
