How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Carry out detailed roof surveys across commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

Measure roof dimensions, drainage points, outlets, perimeters, falls, upstands, and penetrations with accuracy.

Identify existing build-ups, verify deck condition, and assess requirements for tapered insulation or flat board.

Recommend where tapered gutters, sumps, or additional design features may be required.

Liaise with contractors/manufacturers to understand project requirements, sequencing and installation preferences.

    Design Collaboration

Provide precise survey data to the internal design team to allow production of accurate tapered schemes (CAD/PDF).

Clarify technical queries and ensure survey findings align with proposed build-ups.

Support the design team with revisions where site conditions differ from drawings or tender information.

    Customer & Stakeholder Interaction

Act as a technical representative for the business during surveys.

Communicate effectively with contractors, installers, consultants, and manufacturers.

Provide on-site guidance on tapered insulation best practice and drainage optimisation.

Represent the company professionally and support commercial decision-making where required.

    Reporting & Compliance

Produce clear and concise survey reports within agreed timescales.

Ensure all survey work aligns with relevant standards (BS 6229, Part L, fire requirements, etc.).

Maintain accurate records of site visits, access arrangements, and risk assessments.

Support project tracking and ensure information is fed into CRM or internal systems.

    Skills, Experience & Competencies

    Essential

Strong understanding of flat roofing systems (single-ply, liquid, bituminous, warm roof build-ups, etc.).

Experience in tapered insulation (PIR, mineral wool, hybrid).

Comfortable surveying roofs at height with appropriate training/PPE.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.

Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

    Full UK driving licence.
