Pin Point Recruitment is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Stock Controller to join a fast-paced and growing organisation operating within a specialist commodities environment. This is a key role responsible for overseeing stock movements, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring alignment between physical stock and financial systems.
You will play a critical part in maintaining real-time stock accuracy, supporting trading activities, and driving improvements in stock control processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Inventory & Stock Management
* Oversee all goods inwards, goods outwards, and internal stock movements across multiple locations.
* Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records to support a live stock accounting system.
* Monitor stock levels and forecast requirements in line with operational and sales demands.
* Maintain records of stock sold but not yet dispatched.
* Reconciliation & Reporting
* Perform regular reconciliations between physical inventory and accounting systems.
* Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
* Develop and improve reconciliation processes across multiple systems.
* Track and maintain daily stock balance, ensuring alignment with trading activities.
* Operational Oversight
* Manage stock movements across various business functions including manufacturing, storage, and external partners.
* Oversee dispatch processes, including large orders and general shipments.
* Ensure accurate recording of stock as it moves through different stages of processing.
* Supervise goods inwards processes, including verification and recording of incoming materials.
* Supplier & External Coordination
* Manage relationships with external partners relating to stock processing and refining.
* Reconcile incoming and outgoing stock with third-party records and expectations.
* Ensure all external transactions are accurately reflected in internal systems.
* Audit & Compliance
* Lead regular stock takes and support quarterly and year-end inventory audits.
* Prepare stock valuation reports and analyse variances against expected figures.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls and inventory procedures.
* Process Improvement
* Identify opportunities to improve stock control efficiency and accuracy.
* Support the implementation and optimisation of inventory management systems.
About You
Proven experience in stock control, inventory management, or a similar role.
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Experience working with accounting or inventory systems (e.g. Sage or similar).
Ability to manage multiple processes and work to tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise across departments.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
