How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Leeds office is a relatively new addition to the company, currently home to a sustainability team and a rapidly growing MEP design team. With a number of key positions available in Leeds across mechanical and electrical design, a specialist Public Health Engineer is also required to support a wide variety of schemes across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments.

    The appointed Engineer will be responsible for the design, specification, and coordination of Public Health Engineering Systems, contributing to high-quality, sustainable building services solutions.

    Key Responsibilities will include:

    * Above and below ground drainage

    * Hot and cold water services

    * Rainwater harvesting systems

    * Greywater recycling systems

    * Produce detailed calculations, layouts, schematics, and specifications

    * Prepare reports and technical documentation

    * Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers

    * Attend design team meetings and liaise with clients, architects, and contractors

    * Ensure compliance with relevant UK standards, regulations, and best practice

    * Undertake site inspections and monitor installation quality

    * Support Junior Engineers and contribute to team development

    Requirements

    * Professional qualifications in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline

    * Experience in a public health engineering role within a design environment

    * Strong knowledge of UK regulations and standards (e.g., Water Regulations, British Standards, Building Regulations)

    * Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit (BIM experience desirable)

    * Good understanding of sustainable design principles

    * Strong communication and teamwork skills

    * Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines

    Desirable Skills & Experience

    * Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CIBSE or IMechE)

    * Experience with large-scale or complex developments

    * Knowledge of BREEAM or other sustainability assessment methods

    * Familiarity with modern methods of construction (MMC)

    Applications are invited from experienced Mechanical/Public Health Engineers who would like to focus on PH design, working in collaboration with a wider MEP team to deliver complex building design. Opportunities at Engineer (with support available) or Senior Engineer grade in order to help facilitate the best possible hire
