The Leeds office is a relatively new addition to the company, currently home to a sustainability team and a rapidly growing MEP design team. With a number of key positions available in Leeds across mechanical and electrical design, a specialist Public Health Engineer is also required to support a wide variety of schemes across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments.
The appointed Engineer will be responsible for the design, specification, and coordination of Public Health Engineering Systems, contributing to high-quality, sustainable building services solutions.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Above and below ground drainage
* Hot and cold water services
* Rainwater harvesting systems
* Greywater recycling systems
* Produce detailed calculations, layouts, schematics, and specifications
* Prepare reports and technical documentation
* Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers
* Attend design team meetings and liaise with clients, architects, and contractors
* Ensure compliance with relevant UK standards, regulations, and best practice
* Undertake site inspections and monitor installation quality
* Support Junior Engineers and contribute to team development
Requirements
* Professional qualifications in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
* Experience in a public health engineering role within a design environment
* Strong knowledge of UK regulations and standards (e.g., Water Regulations, British Standards, Building Regulations)
* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Revit (BIM experience desirable)
* Good understanding of sustainable design principles
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CIBSE or IMechE)
* Experience with large-scale or complex developments
* Knowledge of BREEAM or other sustainability assessment methods
* Familiarity with modern methods of construction (MMC)
