About the Role:
As a Traffic Management Operative at Whites, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping road users, pedestrians, and workforce safe during temporary works. You’ll be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and removing traffic management systems in line with Lantra standards and Whites’ operational procedures.
This is a hands-on, physical role that requires attention to detail, good communication, and a commitment to safety. No two days are the same-you’ll work across a variety of sites, environments, and shift patterns.
Your Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and remove temporary traffic management systems, including multi-way traffic control, diversions, lane closures, and pedestrian management
- Deploy cones, signs, frames, sandbags, lights, barriers, and other equipment safely and correctly
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust setups as conditions change
- Carry out on-site checks, basic risk assessments, and report issues promptly
- Communicate clearly with site teams, the public, and colleagues
- Maintain accurate records where required
- Represent Whites professionally at all times
