Overview
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Helper to support mechanical installation activities on a large-scale energy / infrastructure project. This role will assist skilled trades personnel in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality mechanical works on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist mechanical trades (fitters, pipefitters, welders) with installation and assembly activities
- Support the handling, positioning, and securing of mechanical components and equipment
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- Assist with lifting, rigging, and moving materials in line with site procedures
- Follow instructions from supervisors and skilled trades personnel
- Ensure compliance with all site HSE policies and procedures
- Support basic mechanical tasks such as bolting, torqueing, and alignment (under supervision)
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings
Requirements
- Previous experience working on construction or industrial sites (energy, power, or infrastructure preferred)
- Basic understanding of mechanical works and tools
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Strong awareness of health and safety on site
- Valid right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience on power plants, substations, or large-scale industrial projects
- Relevant site certifications (e.g., CSCS, CCNSG, or equivalent)
- Manual handling or lifting training
