How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Join a cutting‑edge research environment working with leading UK and international pharmaceutical companies

    We’re offering…

A stimulating and rewarding career pathway for individuals looking to play a key role in the development of tomorrow’s medicines. As a Patient Screening Co‑ordinator, you will join a successful MHRA Phase I Accredited Unit with an international reputation for excellence in clinical research.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the recruitment and screening of volunteers and patients for our clinical studies, helping to strengthen our volunteer database and contribute directly to the success of our research programmes.

    The role…

You will receive full training to develop the skills needed to screen, assess, and onboard volunteers and patients onto our pharmaceutical studies. Working as part of a collaborative and friendly Recruitment Team, you will be responsible for delivering a professional, supportive, and engaging experience to all volunteers.

This position is ideal for someone with excellent people skills, strong customer service experience, and the confidence to communicate clearly with a wide range of individuals. You will work closely with our clinical teams and external partners, ensuring volunteers are well‑informed, welcomed, and prepared for their research journey.

Key aspects of the role include:

    • Conducting initial telephone screenings and assessing volunteer suitability
    • Booking eligible volunteers into New Volunteer Screen (NVS) appointments
    • Maintaining accurate, high‑quality records within the ICARUS database
    • Supporting outreach and engagement activities to grow our volunteer pool
    • Working with Recruitment and Marketing teams to support study needs
    • Ensuring all activities comply with EU/UK Clinical Trials legislation and ICH GCP

    Experience we’re looking for…

    • Experience in a customer‑facing, call‑handling, or service‑driven role
    • Confidence communicating clearly and professionally with a wide range of individuals
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
    • Comfortable working with databases with good attention to detail
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently
    • A proactive, positive approach to problem‑solving and supporting volunteers
    • Previous experience in healthcare, clinical research, or recruitment is beneficial but not essential

    MEU will offer you…

At MEU you can enjoy a competitive benefits package that supports your wellbeing, growth, and financial security. We invest in our people with a market‑leading benefits package that recognises your contribution and supports your life inside and outside of work.
