As an Associate Transport Planner, you'll join a collaborative team in Reading, contributing to high-profile transport planning projects and supporting senior leaders with your technical expertise. Your key responsibilities will include:
·Leading Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Site Access Designs, and Section 278/38 works
·Assisting with complex transport planning issues, including planning appeals, local plan submissions, and transport strategies
·Supporting senior colleagues in project management, ensuring timely delivery within budget
·Preparing and reviewing fee proposals, budgets, and project timelines
·Contributing to project performance management, ensuring objectives are met
·Providing technical expertise in modelling, CAD, and reporting
·Liaising with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions
·Assisting with mentoring junior staff and supporting team development
·Participating in business development activities, including networking and marketing efforts
You will play a pivotal role in supporting senior colleagues while working towards your career goals in transport planning. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of projects and the opportunity to enhance your technical and professional growth.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
·A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Transport Planning or a related field
·Professional membership (e.g., MCIHT or similar) or working towards it
·Experience in transport planning, ideally in development planning and transport assessments
·A solid understanding of transport policies, guidance, and regulations
·Proficiency in transport modelling, CAD, and reporting
·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
·Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
·A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
·Experience in client liaison and assisting with business development activities
Additional qualifications, such as project management experience or chartership, would be advantageous.
