How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are currently representing a specialist, independent project consultancy delivering complex M&E and infrastructure works across the built environment. Known for being agile, hands-on and delivery-focused, they support clients on technically challenging projects where clear leadership, accountability, and real-world commissioning experience are essential.

Due to ongoing workload across Central London, they are looking to engage an experienced Commissioning Engineer or Commissioning Manager on a long-term day-rate basis, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Commissioning Engineer who is ready to take the next step into a Commissioning Manager role.

    The Role

This is a hands-on commissioning role suited to a self-sufficient professional who is comfortable operating in complex, live environments and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.

You will take ownership of commissioning activities from planning through to handover, ensuring systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with programme requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Developing and managing commissioning plans, strategies, and programmes

    *

Coordinating commissioning activities with project teams, contractors, M&E specialists and end clients

    *

Managing commissioning schedules and ensuring works align with overall programme

    *

Witnessing, testing and validating systems in line with project requirements

    *

Managing commissioning documentation including test scripts, results, certification and close-out packs

    *

Identifying and resolving commissioning, integration, and performance issues

    *

Supporting handover, training and final close-out activities

    *

Ensuring commissioning is delivered in line with H&S, quality, and compliance standards

    Requirements

    *

Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer or Commissioning Manager

    *

Strong background in M&E / building services / infrastructure environments

    *

Confident working in complex, live environments (high-profile sites desirable)

    *

Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams

    *

Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of commissioning delivery

    *

Strong attention to detail with documentation and compliance processes

    *

Must have the right to work in the UK

    Benefits:

    *

£350 – £400 per day (depending on experience)

    *

Long-term contract with strong project pipeline

    *

Permanent opportunity available for the right person

    *

    Site-based role in Central London

    *

    Immediate or short-notice start preferred
