How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Primary School Teacher (KS1)
    Location: Widnes
    Start Date: September 2026 (Earlier start dates may be available)
    Salary: £130 - £190 per day (Pay to scale from 12 weeks; salary dependent on experience)

    The Role

    We are seeking a dedicated teacher to lead a Year 1 or Year 2 class, providing engaging and inclusive learning experiences that meet the needs of every child. Your responsibilities will include:

    Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
    Leading high-quality phonics sessions and targeted interventions using the Read Write Inc. programme.
    Collaborating with colleagues and support staff to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
    Supporting children with additional needs, working closely with the SENDCo and wider team to provide tailored learning opportunities.
    Creating a classroom environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
    Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and providing meaningful feedback to both pupils and parents.
    Contributing to the wider life of the school and building strong connections with the local community.
    What We're Looking For

    We are seeking a teacher who is:

    Passionate about Key Stage 1 education and holds UK QTS.
    Experienced in delivering Read Write Inc. interventions (essential).
    Confident in teaching KS1, with a solid understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
    Flexible, reflective, and able to adapt lessons to meet a wide range of abilities.
    Nurturing, patient, and positive, with excellent classroom management skills.
    Able to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
    Able to provide two professional references.
    Holding a valid Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willing to obtain one).
