How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    A senior procurement opportunity for an experienced Buyer to lead Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) purchasing across a growing engineering‑led business. Reporting into the Purchasing Director, this role combines strategic influence with hands‑on supplier and cost management responsibility.

    Description

    Lead procurement activity across key categories, with a strong focus on Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and engineering spend
    Act as a senior escalation point and commercial lead for UK and international suppliers
    Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to deliver sustainable cost savings
    Benchmark supplier pricing and identify opportunities for continuous cost reduction
    Source, evaluate, and onboard alternative suppliers to reduce risk and improve competitiveness
    Manage supplier performance across delivery, quality, and pricing accuracy
    Support and influence procurement strategy alongside the Purchasing Director
    Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes, systems, and the supplier base
    Contribute to stock management, forecasting, and broader supply chain optimisation
    Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure operational and commercial requirements are metProfile

    A successful Senior Buyer should have:

    Proven experience in a senior buying or procurement role within engineering, manufacturing, construction, or distribution
    Strong background working with international suppliers and import processes
    Demonstrable success in negotiation, cost reduction, and supplier performance management
    Commercially astute and confident challenging decisions to drive better outcomes
    Comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability in a senior role
    Highly organised with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
    Experience using ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is desirable but not essentialJob Offer
