How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job – Motor Vehicle Technician - Permanent - 21.6 hours per week ( part time )

    Salary - £15,000 - £15,420 per annum ( based on FTE £(phone number removed) ) depending on qualifications and experience.

    Holiday- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays ( pro rata for part time )

    Location – Broxbourne Campus – Flexible on days/ hours

    We are looking for a Motor Vehicle technician to provide support for the Department for STEM within the area of Motor Vehicle and Construction as and when needed. Maintaining health and safety of the department and supporting the teaching team to ensure workshops area professional working space.

    About the Role

    In this role, you will:

    •Ensure a safe working environment whilst students are within the Motor Vehicle area, and in Construction as and when needed.

    •Support the carrying out of safety checks on a regular basis and keeping appropriate records.

    •Support the upkeep and maintenance of equipment.

    •Ensure the unserviceable equipment is removed from use and repaired or replaced as quickly as possible.

    •Assist the teaching staff by preparing the workshops in accordance with their requirements.

    ✔ Minimum L2 qualification in English and Mathematics.
