How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title:  SEN Teacher
    Location: The Wenlock School, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 3SB
    Hours:      37.5 per week | Monday to Friday | Monday 8:15am - 4:30pm, Tuesday - Friday 8:15am - 3:45pm
    Salary:      Up to £40,000.00 per annum (dependant on experience, not pro rata)
    Contract:  Permanent | Term Time Only
    Start:        May 2026

    About the Role

    As an SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering a highly personalised and inclusive education for pupils with additional needs. Working within small classes or on a one-to-one basis, you will create engaging, adaptable learning experiences that support each child’s academic progress alongside their social and emotional development. You will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that every pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) is effectively implemented and reviewed, enabling them to thrive in a safe, structured and supportive environment.

    Individualised Provision: Develop, implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour plans and EHCP targets, ensuring learning is tailored to each pupil’s needs.

    Curriculum Delivery: Plan and teach differentiated lessons across the National Curriculum, adapting content through visual supports, sensory strategies and assistive technology to maximise accessibility and engagement.

    Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Track, record and report on pupil progress, prepare documentation for annual reviews, and contribute to whole-school development priorities.

    Behaviour & Pastoral Support: Apply trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to support pupils with complex needs, promoting emotional regulation, positive behaviour and increasing independence.

    Collaboration & Communication: Work as part of a multi-professional team, liaising regularly with support staff, therapists, care teams and parents/carers to ensure consistency between school and home.

    Safeguarding & Professional Practice: Maintain high professional standards, uphold safeguarding responsibilities, manage classroom resources effectively, and ensure compliance with all school policies and regulatory requirements.

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

    Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

    Experience: Proven experience working with children with SEND, specifically managing emotional and behavioural difficulties.

    Knowledge: Deep understanding of how to adapt SMSC and British Values for pupils with varying cognitive levels.

    Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with vulnerable pupils and their families.

    Qualities: A calm, caring nature with high expectations for the personal growth of every child.

    Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence.
