London Office / Hybrid with 3-4 days a week office-based
This role isn't for everyone.
Most Finance Business Partner jobs are glorified reporting roles. This one isn't. STOIX is working exclusively with a global technology services business to find someone who will work directly alongside operational leaders — reshaping how the finance function thinks, plans, and communicates. The analytics baseline is already strong. Your job is to make it sharper, faster, and more commercially useful.
If you read a P&L and immediately see the story behind the numbers — and you know how to tell that story to people who don't speak finance — read on.
What You Will Actually Be Doing
- Owning financial performance reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis across allocated business areas
- Building models that genuinely drive decisions — cost drivers, project profitability, pipeline visibility, run-rate forecasting
- Turning complex data into executive-ready insight — concise, visual, and actionable
- Leading business partnering conversations with senior operational and commercial leaders
- Challenging legacy processes and replacing them with something better
- Growing into the role — this is a function being built, and there is a clear path for the right person
You Will Thrive Here If You
- Big 4 or Top 10 training, or a leading graduate training scheme with a clear track record of progression.
- Have a strong FP&A or finance business partnering background, ideally in technology, professional services, or a delivery-led business
- Experience working in scrappy, imperfect, challenging environments
- Understand services economics — utilisation, backlog, margin, project profitability
- Build financial models that others actually use
- Communicate clearly to non-finance audiences without dumbing it down
- Are personable, credible, and able to build genuine relationships with senior stakeholders — this is not a back-office role
- Are genuinely curious about how businesses work, not just how the numbers move
- Are actively using AI tools in your day-to-day work — this matters here
- Power BI, Power Query, or advanced Excel capability is expected; a mindset for automation and process improvement matters more than the specific tool
Drivers only. If you want to be told what to do, this isn't it.
