How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    BIM Designer – Structures
    Nottingham (Hybrid Working)
    £40,000 - £47,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

    I’m currently working with one of the most respected and globally recognised engineering consultancies in the world, known for delivering complex, high-profile structural and building projects across the UK and internationally.

    With a legacy spanning decades, this consultancy is at the forefront of digital engineering, combining innovative design, advanced BIM workflows, and a strong commitment to sustainability. Their teams are involved in shaping some of the most technically challenging and architecturally significant developments worldwide.

    This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative Building Engineering team in the Midlands, working within a multidisciplinary environment alongside structural engineers and BIM specialists on major UK and international schemes.

    The Role

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a Structural BIM Designer to work on technically challenging, design-led projects within a globally recognised consultancy.

    You will be responsible for the production of high-quality structural BIM models and drawings, supporting the delivery of coordinated design solutions. You’ll play a key role in multidisciplinary collaboration, attending coordination workshops and working closely with engineers and external stakeholders to develop designs.

    You will also contribute to the wider team by providing technical support and supporting the development of junior team members and apprentices as the team continues to grow.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Produce accurate structural BIM models and drawings

    * Support the coordination of multidisciplinary models across projects

    * Attend BIM coordination meetings and workshops

    * Collaborate with engineers and external stakeholders

    * Assist in the implementation of BIM standards and workflows

    * Provide technical support to the wider team

    * Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation, including automation where applicable

    Projects

    You will be working on a diverse portfolio of major structural and building projects across the UK and internationally, including:

    * State-of-the-art commercial developments

    * Complex science and research facilities

    * Higher education buildings

    * Residential and healthcare schemes

    * Architecturally led, sustainable developments

    Requirements

    * Strong experience using Autodesk Revit (modelling, drawing production, model setup)

    * Proven experience in structural BIM delivery and coordination

    * Experience working within a consultancy environment

    * Good understanding of structural systems and detailing (reinforced concrete experience beneficial)

    * Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

    * Ability to manage workload effectively and contribute to project delivery

    Desirable

    * Experience implementing BIM Execution Plans

    * Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud / Autodesk Forma

    * Interest in automation and digital workflows

    * Working towards or holding a relevant professional qualification (e.g. EngTech / IStructE / ICE)
