We are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join one of our key clients in Fareham. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-established and highly respected organisation, joining a collaborative on-site procurement team of four.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded Buyer with a strong engineering or manufacturing background, looking to play a key role in developing a high-performing supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-end purchasing of raw materials, mechanical components, and subcontract services
Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers, including performance evaluation
Negotiating pricing and contracts to meet cost and budget targets
Managing supplier performance across quality, cost, and delivery metrics
Raising and managing purchase and subcontract work orders
Collaborating with internal teams to support production and new product development
Building and maintaining strong, long-term supplier relationships
About You:
Proven experience as a Buyer within manufacturing or engineering
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Knowledge of materials, machining, and surface treatments (metals preferred)
Experience with ERP/MRP systems
CIPS/APICS qualification (or working towards) desirable
Aerospace sector experience advantageous
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
