How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the Role

We are working with a specialist engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer (Electronics) to join a collaborative team of hardware and software engineers.

This is a hands-on design role, where you will take ownership of electronic hardware development from initial concept through to prototype, testing, and production release.

You’ll also work closely with customers, helping to define requirements, solve technical challenges, and support delivery across a variety of innovative engineering projects.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    * Design, develop, prototype, and test electronic hardware solutions

    * Produce schematic designs and multi-layer PCB layouts (typically 2–8 layers, mixed-signal)

    * Work across analogue, digital, and power electronics designs

    * Support embedded systems development involving MCUs, MPUs, and related technologies

    * Build, test, and debug hardware using lab equipment and practical engineering methods

    * Apply best practice design principles including DFM, DFT, and EMC considerations

    * Support product introduction from concept through to manufacture

    * Work directly with customers to provide technical input and project updates

    * Produce clear technical documentation and design reports

    About You

We are looking for a practical, hands-on electronics engineer who enjoys solving real engineering problems.

    You will likely have:

    * Degree in Electronics Engineering (or similar discipline)

    * 4+ years’ experience in electronics / hardware design

    * Strong experience with PCB design and schematic capture

    * Knowledge of mixed-signal electronics (analogue + digital)

    * Experience working with lab equipment for testing and debugging

    * Exposure to embedded systems (MCU / MPU-based designs)

    * Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers or stakeholders

    Desirable Experience

    * Experience with Altium Designer (or similar ECAD tools such as Eagle, KiCAD, or PADS)

    * IoT / embedded product development experience

    * Understanding of EMC, DFM, and compliance requirements

    * Experience working in a consultancy or multi-project environment

    What’s on Offer

    * Competitive salary depending on experience

    * Private healthcare (including family cover)

    * Pension and life assurance

    * Flexible hybrid working

    * Exposure to a wide range of innovative engineering projects

    * Opportunity to work closely with customers and influence product design
