How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Early Years Practitioner (Level 2 or 3 Required)
    Stoke-on-Trent | Full-Time | Long-Term Role
    Pay: £90–£95 per day (DOE)
    Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
    Weekly PAYE Pay

    About the Role
    Astro Education is currently recruiting for a passionate Early Years Practitioner to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within an Early Years setting, ideal for someone who is committed to supporting young children at a crucial stage in their development.

    The school is open to both Level 2 and Level 3 qualified candidates and is looking for someone with a nurturing approach and a genuine passion for Early Years education.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Support the delivery of engaging and creative activities in line with the EYFS framework

    * Encourage learning through play and structured activities

    * Provide 1:1 and small group support where required

    * Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating learning environment

    * Support children’s social, emotional, and communication development

    * Work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team

    * Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

    Requirements

    * Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare (essential)

    * Experience working within an Early Years setting

    * A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach

    * Strong communication and teamwork skills

    * Paediatric First Aid (desirable)

    * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

    * Right to work in the UK
