How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Critical Shift Engineer – Client Side | EC London | Continental Shift

    Location: EC Postcode, Central London

    Excellent Earning opportunity through strong Salary, OT & Bonuses (£60,000-£70,000 POT earnings)

    Shift Pattern: Continental (Days & Nights) – 4 Engineer Rota

    Environment: High‑Resilience / Mission‑Critical Financial Institute. A leading client‑side organisation is seeking an experienced Critical Shift Engineer to join their in‑house engineering team at a flagship, mission‑critical site in the heart of the EC postcode.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    ▪️ Deliver PPM and reactive maintenance across all critical electrical & mechanical systems

    ▪️ Support key infrastructure including UPS, generators, LV distribution, switchgear, CRAC/CRAH units & chillers

    ▪️ Carry out isolations, switching, and permit‑to‑work in a strictly compliant environment

    ▪️ Respond to incidents and faults, performing rapid recovery while maintaining uptime

    ▪️ Monitor and operate BMS/EMS, ensuring real‑time system stability

    ▪️ Lead and contribute to incident reports, root‑cause analysis, and resilience improvement plans

    ▪️ Maintain accurate engineering logs, statutory compliance records, and audit‑ready documentation

    ▪️ Work collaboratively within a 4‑person continental shift team, ensuring flawless handovers

    What You’ll Bring

    18th Edition

    NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

    Prior experience in banking, data centres, telecoms, pharma, or other mission‑critical environments

    ⚡ Strong competency across LV systems (HV exposure an advantage)

    Excellent fault‑finding and diagnostic capability in pressured environments
