How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Architect, South Somerset, £55k - £70k depending on experience + Progression

    Opportunity with a newly established architectural practice based in Somerset, who are looking to bring in an experienced Architect to join them at an exciting early stage of growth.

    This is a rare opportunity to join a practice at the beginning of its journey, with a strong pipeline of secured work already in place and clear plans for expansion. They are looking for someone who wants more than just a standard role…someone who is keen to play a key part in shaping the direction, design approach and overall growth of the business.

    The position would suit an Architect with 5+ years post-qualification experience, who is confident across both design and delivery. The initial focus will be on residential developments, with scope to branch into other sectors over time, particularly if you have your own areas of interest or client relationships.

    There is clear scope for progression into a senior leadership position, with the potential for the right individual to buy into the business over time and become part of its long-term success. This could include future opportunities around equity, profit share and stepping into a director level role as the practice grows.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leading and supporting projects from concept through to completion
    Producing high quality design, planning and technical information
    Managing and coordinating consultants, clients and contractors
    Preparing planning applications, tender packages and construction drawings
    Contributing to the development of systems, processes and standards
    Supporting the growth of the business and future project opportunities
    Building client relationships and, longer term, contributing to winning work
     Requirements

    RIBA / ARB Chartered Architect
    Minimum 5 years’ UK experience post-qualification
    Strong background in residential design and delivery
    Good understanding of UK Building Regulations
    Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Adobe packages
    Confident communicator with client-facing experience
    Ambitious and keen to take on responsibility within a growing practice
    Alongside this, the role offers a very competitive salary above typical market rates, as well as flexible and hybrid working, creating a strong overall package for the right individual
