How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an Assistant building surveyor to join its team. The building surveyor will support delivery across a range of sectors. The building surveyor will work within a structured project environment. This building surveyor role offers exposure to residential, commercial and public sector schemes. The building surveyor will assist senior colleagues across day-to-day project delivery.

    The Company?

    With nearly 50 years' experience, the organisation provides multidisciplinary services across architecture, building surveying, quantity surveying and project management. The building surveyor will be part of a collaborative team delivering national projects. The building surveyor will gain exposure across housing, education, commercial, care and health sectors.

    The Role

    As the building surveyor, you will support senior team members across the project lifecycle.

    The role will include:
    * Assisting with delivery of residential, education, commercial, care and health projects
    * Supporting contract administration duties under JCT forms
    * Assisting with project documentation, programmes and cost information
    * Contributing to site inspections and reporting at key stages
    * Supporting coordination of multi-disciplinary design teams

    The Assistant Building Surveyor

    You will be a motivated individual with a clear interest in building surveying and the built environment. Applications must come from a construction-related background.

    The Assistant Building Surveyor must have:
    * BSc Hons in Building Surveying or a relevant property-related degree
    * Residential building surveying experience
    * JCT contract administration experience
    * Experience working within UK construction projects
    * Strong communication skills and ability to work in teams
    * Progress towards APC (ongoing development)
