How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Business Development Manager
    Location: Warrington (office based with minimum 2 days per week on the road)
    Salary: £35,000 per annum + company car + bonus
    Role: Permanent – Full time
    Overview
    We are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join a growing, fast‑moving operation within the waste and resource management sector, based out of their Warrington office. This is a hands‑on, commercially focused Business Development Manager role, combining new business generation with key account management and close collaboration with operational teams.
    As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be confident spending time on the road meeting customers, conducting competitor research and building long‑term relationships, while also being comfortable managing data, forecasts and internal reporting from the office. You’ll play a key role in driving gate fees, improving material splits and ensuring site revenues exceed monthly targets.
    This is a visible role with autonomy and responsibility, ideal for a Business Development Manager who enjoys being trusted to deliver results.
    Ideal Candidate

    Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or in a senior B2B sales role
    Comfortable spending a minimum of 2 days per week on the road
    Commercially astute with strong pipeline management and forecasting skills
    Confident handling customer negotiations, disputes and queries
    Highly organised, proactive and results‑drivenBusiness Development Manager – Key Responsibilities

    Drive gate fees and exceed revenue against expected monthly targets
    Generate new business through proactive customer visits, competitor site research and market insight (minimum 2 days per week on the road)
    Manage all quotes, enquiries, disputes and customer queries professionally
    Maintain a well‑documented pipeline and accurate forecasts, presenting performance figures and narrative internally
    Work closely with site managers, completing a minimum of one site visit per month and supporting the Customer Account Manager as requiredCommutable Locations:
