How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Project Director
    Location: Yoevil
    Salary: £90,000 – £110,000 per annum + Company Car + Bonus Scheme (Up to 50% of Salary)

    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Project Director to lead the successful delivery of major projects within a growing Passive Fire Protection contractor based in Yoevil. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring operational excellence, commercial performance, and client satisfaction.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project delivery at a senior level. Experience within passive fire protection is highly desirable, although candidates from relevant sectors will also be considered.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Provide strategic leadership across multiple projects from inception through to completion

    * Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

    * Lead and mentor project teams including Project Managers, Contracts Managers, and site teams

    * Take full responsibility for commercial performance, including cost control, forecasting, and profitability

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders

    * Drive programme performance and resolve any delivery challenges effectively

    * Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations

    * Identify and mitigate project risks while maximising opportunities

    * Support business growth through client engagement and identifying new opportunities

    * Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety regulations and industry standards

    Requirements

    * Proven experience in a senior project leadership role (Project Director / Senior Project Manager) within the construction industry

    * Strong commercial acumen and experience managing high-value projects

    * Excellent leadership and team management skills

    * Strong client-facing and stakeholder management capabilities

    * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

    * Thorough understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT / NEC)

    * Experience in passive fire protection is highly desirable
