How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SOLIDWORKS FURNITURE DESIGN ENGINEER

Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday Salary: £31,000 per annum Location: Derbyshire (with occasional off‑site travel)

A leading UK furniture manufacturer-supplying kitchen, bathroom and bedroom products to national house builders, social housing providers, merchants, retail showrooms and large accommodation projects-is seeking a talented Furniture Design Engineer to join its Product Design team.

    About the Role

You will play a key part in the design, development, prototyping, testing and launch of new furniture products across multiple market sectors. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role that blends creativity with technical precision.

    Key Responsibilities

Designing and developing new furniture products from concept through to final manufacture.

Producing accurate technical and manufacturing drawings under time pressure.

Meeting with clients, interpreting requirements and managing projects from quotation to delivery.

Supporting manufacturing and data teams by creating assembly drawings and initial BOMs.

Working collaboratively within a team and communicating effectively across departments.

Liaising with suppliers, supporting procurement, and assisting with the introduction of new products.

Conducting industry and competitor research, including monitoring manufacturing and technological advancements.

    What We're Looking For

A degree in Product Design or proven industry experience within furniture manufacturing.

Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Knowledge of SketchUp or Revit is beneficial but not essential.

Strong technical understanding of production and manufacturing processes.

A solid background in furniture design.

    Competence with Microsoft Office applications.

    The Ideal Candidate

Quick to learn and confident working independently.

Proactive, solution‑focused, and comfortable expressing ideas and opinions.

Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and internal teams-phone included.

Flexible, eager to learn, and adaptable to changing project demands.

A full UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential
