How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Aircraft Engineer (Piston Engine Vintage Aircraft)

Aircraft Restoration Company (ARC) is a family-owned organisation which specialises in the restoration, maintenance and operation of vintage aircraft.

Aircraft Restoration Company currently maintain around 50 piston engine aircraft the majority of which are vintage types. To keep up with the operational demands of this we are expanding our engineering team with emphasis on candidates who have a comprehensive background in GA piston aircraft maintenance along with an understanding of the mechanical sympathy expected when working on vintage aircraft.

Knowledge / experience of working on general aviation piston aircraft and/or vintage aircraft, or similar, is an essential requirement for this role.

    Duties:

    * Inspecting and maintaining a variety of vintage aircraft.

    * Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to aircraft and components as required.

    * Keeping flight safety at the front of your mind at all times.

    * Undertaking pre-flight inspections and moving aircraft between the Hangars and Flightline.

    * Working to high degrees of accuracy in a timely manner at all times.

    * Maintaining accurate records of work carried out and parts/material traceability at all times.

    Required Skills:

    * The ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing aircraft maintenance environment, being able to adapt and change your working day at short notice due to operational demand.

    * You will need an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with the ability to think on your feet and devise sound engineering solutions.

    * Having already gained experience preferably in Vintage or General Aviation, you would be enthusiastic and willing to develop your skills to encompass the unique vintage aircraft we maintain and operate.

    * Ability to work in a team environment and able to communicate well with colleagues.

    * Good organisational skills and tidy working habits. The hangar working environment is kept to a very high standard of cleanliness and everyone within the team is expected to proactively help maintain this.

    * Willingness to work hard and adapt to the challenges of engineering in an ever evolving aviation environment.

    * Ability to manage your own workload and to meet or preferably exceed customer expectations.

    * Be willing to work occasional weekends as part of the weekend engineering cover schedule.

    * Enjoys the task of problem solving. Rising to meet a challenge is something we are really proud of as a team, whether it's an aircraft going ';tech' the day before a show or just exceeding client expectations, we thrive on going the extra mile. If that's a character trait you share with us then we'd really like to hear from you.

    Your Background:

    * A background in maintaining piston powered aircraft is essential.

    * Knowledge of simple metal repairs would be an advantage
