Electrical Estimator – Buckinghamshire
£45,000–£60,000 + Bonus + Benefits
A multi‑disciplinary building contractor is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support a growing pipeline of commercial and general contracting projects across Buckinghamshire. The Role
This position is ideal for an experienced Electrical Estimator or an electrically biased professional looking to step further into pre‑construction. You’ll be responsible for producing accurate and competitive electrical estimates from initial enquiry through to tender submission. Projects typically include commercial units, warehouses, light industrial sites and general contracting environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documents to prepare accurate electrical estimates
• Produce take‑offs, bills of quantities, schedules and detailed cost breakdowns
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and negotiate best value
• Identify risks, exclusions and value‑engineering opportunities
• Prepare and submit professional tender submissions within deadlines
• Work closely with project managers, engineers and procurement teams to ensure estimates align with delivery strategy
• Provide cost advice during early project stages to support feasibility and design decisions
• Attend pre‑ and post‑tender meetings and occasional site visits
• Maintain accurate pricing data, supplier quotations and cost databases
• Ensure all estimating work complies with company procedures and industry standards
• Keep up to date with market trends, material costs and developments in electrical building services
Ideal Candidate
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within commercial, industrial or facilities environments
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and building services
• Confident interpreting drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Commercially aware with experience in cost analysis and value engineering
• Excellent numeracy, analytical and IT skills (estimating software, Excel, MS Office)
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Able to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines
• Detail‑driven, proactive and solutions‑focused
• Full UK driving licence
