How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Service Engineer

    Biomass Boilers

    Tiverton (Field-Based - Nationwide Travel)

    £32,000 - £36,000 + Overtime (OTE £40k+) + Van + Benefits + Progression + Holiday

    Are you a mechanically or electrically skilled Service Engineer looking for a role where you can develop your expertise within the renewable energy sector?

    On offer is a stable, long-term opportunity within a well-established biomass company, where you will receive industry-specific training and the chance to build a career in a growing service division.

    This company are a leading provider of biomass boiler systems with over 15 years of experience, having installed close to a thousand systems nationwide. With a strong reputation in the renewable energy sector and an expanding service function, they are continuing to grow their engineering team.

    In this role, you will service, maintain, and troubleshoot biomass boiler systems across the UK, working both independently and alongside a small team of experienced engineers. You'll play a key role in supporting customers, resolving breakdowns, and maintaining high service standards.

    The Role
    * Service, maintain, and repair biomass boiler systems nationwide
    * Diagnose faults and attend breakdowns, providing effective solutions
    * Complete service reports, documentation, and technical assessments
    * Provide technical support to customers and internal teams
    * Work closely with engineers and support installation teams when required

    The Person
    * Mechanical or electrical engineering background
    * Experience in service, maintenance, or field-based engineering roles
    * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide
    * Positive attitude, hands-on approach, and willingness to learn
