How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Service and Calibration Engineer

    Metallurgy and Measurement Systems - UK Wide Travel

    Birmingham, Coventry, Worcester, Warwick, Wolverhampton

    £33,000 - £38,000 Basic Salary + Vehicle + Benefits + Bonus

    Are you an experienced service and calibration engineer?
    Or are you site based, running tests and carrying out daily calibration to systems and seeking a field-based challenge?This could be the ideal opportunity for you to join a respected, growing company. A place where you can grow and develop and hone your engineering skills.

    Your Role as a Field Service and Calibration Engineer

    You'll be field based, covering the UK with very occasional international travel.
    You will be responsible for the installation, service, maintenance, and repair a range of metallurgy and measurement systems, including Hardness Testing, scales, measures and others.
    You will be working within a variety of appealing manufacturing sectors including the aerospace, automotive, and medical industries, amongst others.
    You will play an important role in ensuring the equipment is correctly calibrated and always maintained to ISO/IEC 17025 and ASTM standards.
    Compile detailed reports as appropriate.
    Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
    The field-based nature of the role will require nights away from home; on average of 1 - 2 per week.Ideal Background for the Field Service and Calibration Engineer Position

    You'll need experience in the calibration of lab-based equipment.
    Either as a current service engineer, or as somebody using the machinery in a lab.
    A strong engineering understanding is essential in mechanical and electrical disciplines.
    Approachable, honest, and a team player.
    Strong IT and communication skills.
