How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

About the Role - Construction Teacher

We are seeking a skilled and resilient Construction Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Luton for an immediate start.

This is a rewarding opportunity in the education and training sector to lead and deliver engaging Construction lessons to students who require additional behavioural, emotional, and social support. You will be responsible for both planning and delivering high-quality practical learning in a workshop-based environment.

    Key Responsibilities - Luton

Plan and deliver engaging Construction lessons tailored to learner needs
Lead practical workshop-based sessions (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, brickwork or general construction skills)
Set and deliver all learning activities, ensuring appropriate differentiation for individual students
Take responsibility for planning, preparation, and marking of student work
Manage classroom behaviour in line with PRU expectations and behaviour policies
Deliver lessons to very small groups of students (2-4 learners per session)
Teach 40-minute and 80-minute sessions depending on the timetable
Build positive, consistent relationships to support engagement and progress
Support EHCP targets and individual learning plans where required
Work closely with pastoral staff, SENCOs, and wider support teams
Ensure a safe, structured, and well-managed workshop environment at all times

    About You

We are looking for a Construction Teacher who:

Has strong experience working within a workshop environment (carpentry, plumbing, brickwork, or general construction)
Is confident both setting and delivering practical work independently
Has experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (PRU or similar setting desirable)
Can manage small groups effectively and maintain strong behaviour expectations
Is resilient, calm, and consistent in approach
Is passionate about supporting vulnerable learners back into education

What the Role Offers - Luton

Immediate start in a supportive PRU setting
Temporary position with potential for extension
Small class sizes (2-4 students per group)
Structured timetable with 40- and 80-minute lessons
Opportunity to make a real and lasting impact on young people's lives
Valuable experience within specialist education and PRU settings

If you are a Construction specialist with workshop experience looking for an immediate opportunity in a PRU setting in Luton, we would love to hear from you and discuss the Construction Teacher opportunity.

Apply today and help learners rebuild confidence, skills, and a pathway into their future in the education and training sector
