We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join their busy and fast-paced logistics operation based in Watford. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional with a strong background in coordinating HGV movements and managing day-to-day transport activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate daily transport operations, ensuring efficient routing and scheduling of HGVs
Act as the main point of contact for drivers, providing clear instructions and ongoing support
Monitor vehicle movements to ensure timely deliveries and collections
Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, including driver hours and tachograph regulations
Liaise with internal teams, customers, and third-party providers to maintain service levels
Manage and resolve any transport-related issues or delays proactively
Maintain accurate transport records and documentation
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport function
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Transport Coordinator or similar role
Strong knowledge of HGV operations and UK transport regulations
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
Competent in transport planning systems and Microsoft Office
