How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Head of Manufacturing – Peterborough – Competitive Salary Plus bonuses

We are looking for a commercially astute Head of Manufacturing to help drive the next stage of growth for a scaling manufacturing business. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a function at a pivotal point — moving from established production into a more mature, higher‑throughput, and operationally excellent manufacturing operation.

As Head of Manufacturing, you will play a central role in shaping how the business scales, building the systems, processes, and teams required to support increasing demand. You will combine strategic leadership with hands‑on delivery, translating growth ambition into practical, repeatable manufacturing capability. Operating close to the operation while influencing senior decision‑making, this role offers genuine impact, visibility, and the chance to leave a lasting operational legacy.

Head of Manufacturing – Key Responsibilities

Take full accountability for manufacturing performance across output, quality, cost, and delivery

Design, implement, and refine scalable production processes to support increasing demand

Lead production planning, workflow optimisation, and day‑to‑day operational control

Monitor and improve capacity utilisation, identifying and resolving constraints and bottlenecks

Champion continuous improvement through structured problem solving and LEAN methodologies

Establish and maintain effective quality systems, reducing defects and rework

Own manufacturing cost control and support margin improvement through operational insight

Work cross‑functionally with technical, commercial, and support teams to align manufacturing with business objectives

Develop and lead production teams, embedding clear accountability and high standards

Skills & Experience Required as Head of Manufacturing

Proven experience in a senior manufacturing leadership role

Strong background in process design, optimisation, and operational execution

Demonstrated success scaling production in a growing or evolving environment

Solid understanding of LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement methods

Experience implementing or running production systems and performance metrics

Commercially aware, with experience managing cost, efficiency, and productivity

Confident people leader with the ability to build and develop high‑performing teams

Structured, analytical approach with a practical, delivery‑focused mindset

    Benefits Package

    Competitive salary, dependent on experience

    Performance‑related bonus structure

Opportunity to shape and lead the manufacturing function through its next phase of growth

Stable, site‑based role with clear accountability and influence

    Supportive, collaborative working environment

    Free on‑site parking

If this Head of Manufacturing role sounds like a role that would match your skills and experience, we would love to hear from you and look forward to discussing your application in more detail.
