How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Systems Engineer – Test & Instrumentation

    The Role

    This Senior Systems Engineer – Test & Instrumentation position is a hands-on engineering role focused on the design and delivery of bespoke test systems and instrumentation solutions.

    Working across the full project lifecycle, the Senior Systems Engineer – Test & Instrumentation will be responsible for interpreting customer requirements and developing integrated electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for specialist applications.

    This role would suit a Systems Engineer, Test Engineer, or Instrumentation Engineer looking to work on complex, one-off engineering systems.

    Key Duties:

    * Interpret customer requirements and translate into engineering solutions

    * Design electrical and instrumentation systems for bespoke applications

    * Develop system architectures integrating hardware, control systems, and software

    * Produce technical specifications, drawings, and test procedures

    * Support system integration, testing, and commissioning

    * Work closely with customers throughout project delivery

    * Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering systems and processes

    Candidates

    The Senior Systems Engineer – Test & Instrumentation role would suit an experienced engineer with a background in systems engineering, instrumentation, or test environments, ideally within bespoke or R&D-focused engineering projects.

    You will be comfortable working across disciplines, with the ability to interpret requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.

    Key Requirements:

    * HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Systems Engineering

    * Experience working on test systems, instrumentation, or bespoke engineering projects

    * Strong understanding of system integration (electrical, instrumentation, control)

    * Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate into design solutions

    * Experience supporting commissioning, testing, and system validation

    * Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers

    Desirable:

    * Experience with data acquisition or test environments

    * Exposure to LabVIEW or similar platforms

    * Background in aerospace, defence, or other regulated industries
