The Opportunity: A New Way of Working We are looking for a visionary Consultant Social Worker to help launch and "stand up" our brand-new IFD Assessment Team. This is a high-profile pilot project sitting within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), specifically aligned with the Family First Partnership Programme model.
The Mission The goal of this pilot is to revolutionize early intervention. You will work to support families promptly and at the earliest opportunity, preventing unnecessary escalation into long-term social work teams. By providing expert assessments and immediate family visits, you will play a key role in stabilizing caseloads across the service.
Key Responsibilities

Team Development: Help establish the operational foundations of the new IFD Assessment Team.

Front-End Assessments: Predominantly working on high-quality assessments and conducting direct family visits.

Strategic Intervention: Identifying needs early to provide support that avoids the need for statutory escalation.

Expert Practice: Providing consultant-level oversight and social work expertise within a fast-paced MASH environment.
Requirements

Specialist Experience: Extensive background within Assessment and Intervention teams is mandatory.

Model Knowledge: Familiarity with the Family First Partnership Programme or similar early-intervention frameworks.

Leadership Qualities: Ability to work autonomously to build a new team culture within a pilot setting.

Compliance: Qualified Social Worker with valid professional registration and a completed DfE cover sheet.
