How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    BMS Project Manager

    North West England, Manchester to Midlands

    Salary: £70,000 + Package

    Overview

    Opportunity to join a leading smart infrastructure provider delivering building automation projects across the UK. This role offers full ownership of project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard, while meeting client expectations and UK regulatory requirements.

    Operating within a hybrid model, you will spend 2 to 3 days on site across projects typically located in the Midlands, North of London and Manchester.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for the end to end delivery of BMS projects, from initial scope through to final handover. This includes defining project programmes and budgets, managing procurement and subcontractors, and ensuring all works are delivered in line with UK building regulations, CDM requirements and internal standards.

    Acting as the key point of contact, you will build strong relationships with clients, consultants and internal teams, leading regular project meetings and providing clear progress updates throughout the lifecycle.

    From a technical perspective, you will oversee design reviews, commissioning and system integration, ensuring compliance with industry protocols such as BACnet and Modbus. Alongside this, you will take ownership of commercial performance, monitoring costs and profitability, managing variations and mitigating risk.

    You will also ensure projects are completed to a high standard, with accurate documentation, as built records and a smooth handover to service teams, including client training where required.

    Requirements

    * Degree qualified in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering or equivalent industry experience

    * Proven track record delivering BMS or building automation projects

    * Experience within complex environments such as pharmaceuticals would be advantageous

    * Strong understanding of smart building technologies and BMS platforms. Siemens experience is beneficial but not essential

    Certifications

    * CSCS card and health and safety training desirable

    * Hybrid working model

    * Competitive pension with employer contributions up to 10 percent

    * 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays with the option to buy or sell additional days

    * Annual performance related bonus

    * Private healthcare and a comprehensive benefits package
