How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the Company
Our client is a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure specialist with over 45 years’ experience delivering vital projects that keep the UK’s essential services moving and connected. Working across water, transport, energy, and the built environment, they are trusted to deliver some of the country’s most complex and high-impact infrastructure programmes.
What truly sets them apart is their approach. Alongside the scale and technical complexity of their work, they are known for a people-focused culture built on collaboration, engineering excellence, and a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and delivering work the right way. Their teams are empowered to take ownership, solve challenges, and contribute to projects that make a genuine difference to communities.
Please note, this is an office-based role with a requirement to be in the office approx four days per week.
    The Role
We’re looking for a Streetworks Coordinator to play a key role in the planning and delivery of streetworks activity, ensuring full compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).
Working within a fast-paced regional team, you’ll be at the centre of coordination between project teams, local authorities, and stakeholders—keeping works moving smoothly, compliantly, and efficiently from planning through to completion.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detail, responsibility, and variety in their day-to-day work, and who wants to be part of delivering essential infrastructure across the region.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Raise, manage, and close Streetworks permits using Street Manager
    * Ensure full compliance with NRSWA, proactively reducing risk of fines and breaches
    * Maintain accurate and up-to-date programmes of works
    * Coordinate third-party requirements including road closures, parking suspensions, and bus stop diversions
    * Manage Section 50 licences, FPNs, and Section 74 charge processes
    * Liaise confidently with Highway Authorities, responding to feedback and required amendments
    * Support project teams with planning, scheduling, and progress reporting
    * Contribute to KPI tracking and performance reporting across the region
    * Produce clear and accurate reports for planned and live works
    * Support audits, compliance checks, and project reviews
    Requirements (essential)
    * Working knowledge of NRSWA and streetworks legislation
    * Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels
    * High attention to detail with strong organisational ability
    * Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
    * Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
    Desirable
    * Previous experience using Street Manager and coordinating permits
    * Proactive, solution-focused approach with strong time management
    * Confident working with local authorities and external stakeholders
    Benefits
    * Competitive salary and company pension scheme
    * Private medical cover and life assurance
    * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and additional loyalty days
    * Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support
    * Flexible benefits and salary sacrifice options
    * Training, development, and clear progression pathways
    * Volunteering days and long service recognition
