We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance / Payroll Assistant to join a welcoming and well-established secondary school setting across Croydon. This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week role, ideal for a professional with strong school-based finance experience who is looking to further develop their career within education.
The Role
You will play a key role in supporting the school's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across finance and payroll processes. Working as part of a supportive administrative team, you will contribute to the smooth running of the school's financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Managing payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate staff payments
Supporting day-to-day financial operations including invoicing, reconciliations, and budgeting support
Maintaining financial records in line with school and local authority requirements
Assisting with audits and financial reporting
Liaising with staff, external providers, and senior leadership where requiredRequirements
Proven experience working in school-based finance is essential
Strong knowledge of payroll processes and financial systems
A relevant degree is preferred
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamThe School
