At Classroom Recruiters, we are looking for experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) who are ready to take on a new challenge as a 1:1 SEN Tutor within a specialist learning centre in Long Eaton.

This role supports children who find mainstream school environments overwhelming. The learning centre provides smaller class groups, a calmer setting, and a more personalised approach to education, allowing staff to focus on building trust, confidence, and engagement in learning.

In this role, you will work closely with one allocated child, supporting their learning and emotional development throughout the day. As an experienced HLTA, you will have the autonomy to adapt learning activities, support behaviour positively, and help guide the child’s progress in a supportive and structured environment.

This is an ideal next step for HLTAs who want to move into a more specialised, impactful role where they can work more closely with individual pupils and see real progress over time.

Due to the nature of the role, you will also be responsible for collecting the child from home at 9:00am and dropping them home at 3:00pm, so a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential

Requirements

* HLTA qualification or significant HLTA-level experience

* Experience working with children with SEN

* A patient, nurturing and therapeutic approach

* Confidence working 1:1 with children who may struggle in mainstream settings

* Full UK driving licence

* Access to your own vehicle with business insurance

* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

* Willingness to complete a mandatory induction
