How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Data Engineer (HealthTech)
    Location: Manchester (Hybrid/Remote options available)
    Day Rate: £500–£550 per day (Outside IR35)
    Contract Length: 6 months initial (extensions likely)

    Overview
    Chapman Tate Associates are seeking an experienced Contract Data Engineer to join an innovative HealthTech organisation delivering data-driven solutions that improve patient outcomes and healthcare services. This is an exciting opportunity to work on meaningful projects, building scalable data platforms that support clinical insights, product development, and operational efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes

    * Integrate data from a variety of sources including clinical systems, APIs, and third-party providers

    * Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to deliver high-quality datasets

    * Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g. GDPR)

    * Support the development of data platforms in cloud environments

    * Optimise data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability

    Required Skills & Experience

    * Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a fast-paced environment (HealthTech, MedTech, or related sectors preferred)

    * Strong SQL and Python (or similar programming languages)

    * Hands-on experience with modern data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift)

    * Experience working with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

    * Solid understanding of data modelling, warehousing, and pipeline development

    * Experience handling sensitive or regulated data

    Desirable Experience

    * Experience working with healthcare data standards (e.g. FHIR, HL7)

    * Exposure to real-time data processing or streaming tools (e.g. Kafka)

    * Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks in healthcare

    * Experience supporting analytics or machine learning workloads
