You will play a key role in ensuring tooling meets exacting quality and tolerance requirements while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation across tooling and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manufacture new tooling and refurbish existing tooling for moulding and product assembly
* Develop innovative tooling solutions to support efficient manufacture
* Machine tooling and NPI piece parts to precise tolerances
* Produce small quantities of piece parts (typically up to 5-off) for NPI, samples, and testing
* Work closely with design, manufacturing, and process engineers to advise on tooling design and process improvements
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and company policies
* Undertake other reasonable duties as required to support the Toolroom and wider business
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
* City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
* Completed a time-served apprenticeship in a toolmaking environment
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Toolroom Engineer, Toolroom Technician, or Toolmaker
* Proven experience in mould tool and assembly tool manufacture
* Ability to machine to exacting tolerances using milling, turning, grinding, and related methods
* Strong understanding of tool manufacture and precision engineering
* CAD/CAM knowledge
* Experience with CNC mills and lathes
