How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A growing and reputable consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join their expanding fire safety team.

    This Fire Risk Assessor opportunity offers a varied role combining site-based assessments, technical reporting, and client-facing consultancy. The Fire Risk Assessor will play a key role in delivering high-quality fire safety services while supporting wider business growth.

    The Fire Risk Assessor's Role

    The Fire Risk Assessor will be responsible for delivering fire risk assessments and associated consultancy services across a diverse range of properties. The Fire Risk Assessor will also contribute to quality assurance and training initiatives within the team.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Conducting Type 1 Fire Risk Assessments across various building types
    Providing clear, concise, and practical fire safety advice to clients
    Undertaking fire consultancy work, including compartmentation and intrusive surveys (with support where required)
    Producing accurate, high-quality reports in line with current legislation and best practice
    Supporting quality assurance processes by reviewing peer reports
    Assisting with the delivery of training, both in-person and online
    Building and maintaining strong client relationships
    Supporting business development and contributing to revenue growthThe Fire Risk Assessor

    The ideal Fire Risk Assessor will be technically competent, client-focused, and motivated to deliver high standards. The Fire Risk Assessor will be confident working independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.

    Requirements include:

    Experience delivering Fire Risk Assessments (Type 1 essential)
    Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and best practice
    Experience or willingness to undertake compartmentation and intrusive surveys
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
    Ability to build and maintain client relationships
