Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are working in partnership with a local council to recruit Refuse Loaders for temp-to-perm roles. This is a physically demanding, outdoor position ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work and being part of an essential service.
You will be working outdoors in all weather conditions, walking and lifting for up to 10 hours per day as part of the waste and recycling team.
Key Duties:
Loading household waste and recycling
Working as part of a refuse collection crew
Completing assigned collection routes
Assisting with food waste caddy distribution
Heavy lifting and walking (up to 20,000 steps daily)
About You:
Full UK driving licence is essential for this role
Able to travel for a 5:45am start
Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
Happy working outdoors in all conditions
Reliable with a strong work ethic
Own PPE (safety boots & hi-vis)
Hours & Pay:
£12.71 per hour
£13.74 per hour once permanent
Tuesday to Friday
5:45am – 3:45pm (early finish potential)
Training:
Full induction provided.
