How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Strategic Finance Modeller
Cambridge (Hybrid - 2 days per week)
    £50,000 - £60,000 + bonus and excellent benefits

Our client, a high-growth, internationally recognised business is seeking a Strategic Business Modeller to join its commercial finance team. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a critical analytical model that will directly influence strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in understanding customer behaviour, forecasting revenue, and supporting long-term commercial planning.

    Key Responsibilities:
    * Design, build, and maintain a robust Excel-based model to track and forecast customer behaviour
    * Ensure models are scalable, transparent, and auditable
    * Continuously enhance and refine models using new data inputs
    * Analyse customer lifecycle data to identify retention trends, churn drivers, and revenue impacts
    * Segment data into meaningful cohorts (e.g. acquisition channel, geography, customer value)
    * Support the development of business cases and ROI analysis
    * Integrate key assumptions into revenue forecasting and scenario modelling
    * Support budgeting processes with data-driven insights
    * Prepare and present analysis to senior stakeholders
    * Partner with cross-functional teams including commercial, product, and data

    Must haves:
    * Advanced Excel modelling skills (including complex formulas, data modelling, and ideally Power Query)
    * Proven experience building financial or analytical models from scratch
    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
    * Experience working with and influencing non-finance stakeholders
    * Experience in a data-rich or subscription-based environment
    * Exposure to tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau or similar

The role offers a competitive salary alongside a strong benefits package, including bonus, pension, and healthcare. You'll work in a hybrid model, with two days per week in the Cambridge office, and gain exposure to senior stakeholders in a high-impact position. This is an excellent opportunity to operate in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment where you can directly influence business strategy.
