A Mobile Plumber plays a crucial role in maintaining safe, compliant, and fully operational plumbing systems across multiple client sites. This role combines technical expertise with customer service, problem‑solving, and the ability to work independently while representing the facilities management team.
Key Responsibilities
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
*
Carry out scheduled plumbing maintenance across commercial, industrial, or residential FM sites.
*
Inspect, test, and service plumbing systems including pipework, valves, pumps, sanitary ware, and drainage.
*
Complete water hygiene tasks such as temperature monitoring, flushing, and basic legionella control measures.
Reactive Maintenance & Repairs
*
Respond to plumbing faults, leaks, blockages, and breakdowns in a timely manner.
*
Diagnose issues and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
*
Escalate complex issues where specialist support is required.
Installation & Project Work
*
Install and commission new plumbing fixtures, pipework, and associated equipment.
*
Support small works projects, refurbishments, and upgrades across client sites.
Compliance & Documentation
*
Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations (Water Regulations, H&S, Legionella guidance).
*
Maintain accurate job records, reports, and digital documentation.
*
Conduct risk assessments and follow safe working practices.
Customer & Client Interaction
*
Act as a professional representative of the FM provider.
*
Communicate clearly with site contacts, providing updates and recommendations.
*
Offer technical advice and identify opportunities for improvement.
Travel & Mobility
*
Travel between multiple sites daily using a company vehicle.
*
Manage tools, stock, and materials effectively while mobile.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Skills
*
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
*
Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems.
*
Experience in facilities management or multi‑site maintenance (preferred).
*
Understanding of water hygiene and legionella control.

Certifications (Desirable)
- Unvented Hot Water (G3).
