A Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing HVAC systems across multiple commercial client sites. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent customer interaction, and the ability to work independently while representing the facilities management team professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
*
Carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance on AC and HVAC systems, including split units, VRV/VRF systems, AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation equipment.

Conduct performance checks, filter changes, coil cleaning, and system optimisation.
*
Ensure all PPM tasks are completed within SLA timeframes.
Reactive Maintenance & Fault Diagnosis
*
Respond to breakdowns, system failures, and urgent call‑outs across multiple sites.
*
Diagnose faults quickly and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
*
Provide recommendations for remedial works or system improvements.
Installation & Project Support
*
Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of AC and HVAC systems.
*
Support small works projects, refurbishments, and equipment replacements.
Compliance, Safety & Documentation
*
Ensure all work complies with F‑Gas regulations, H&S legislation, and manufacturer guidelines.
*
Complete digital job sheets, service reports, and asset records accurately.
*
Carry out risk assessments and follow safe working practices at all times.
Client Interaction & Professionalism
*
Act as a key representative of the FM provider when visiting client sites.
*
Communicate clearly with site contacts, providing updates and technical advice.
*
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements or additional works.
Travel & Mobility
*
Travel between multiple sites daily using a company vehicle.
*
Manage tools, equipment, and van stock effectively.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Skills
*
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent).
*
Strong experience working with commercial AC and HVAC systems.
*
Proven background in facilities management or multi‑site engineering.
*
Solid understanding of VRV/VRF systems, split systems, and ventilation equipment.
Certifications (Essential & Desirable)
*
F‑Gas Category 1 (essential).
*
City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent.
*
PASMA/IPAF (desirable).
*
Basic electrical competency (desirable).
*
CSCS card (preferred).
