How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    At Data Idols, we are working with a forward-thinking technology business building advanced data and AI platforms that combine traditional analytics with next-generation AI-driven intelligence.

    This is a high-growth environment where data is central to product innovation. The business is now looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer to take ownership of its data architecture and analytics capabilities as it continues to scale.

    The Opportunity

    This is a senior, high-impact role where you will design and deliver a unified analytics layer that supports both traditional reporting and AI-powered insight generation. You will be responsible for building scalable data models, enabling advanced analytics, and integrating AI capabilities such as semantic search and natural language querying. Working closely with product, data, and engineering teams, you will play a key role in shaping how data is structured, transformed, and consumed across the platform. This role suits someone who enjoys working at the intersection of analytics engineering, data architecture, and AI, and is comfortable building production-ready data systems in a fast-moving environment.

    Skills and experience

    Experience designing and building ETL pipelines
    Strong understanding of data modelling, schema design, and data structures
    Strong SQL skills and experience
    Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools
    Exposure to LLMs or AI-driven analytics workflows
