How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    You will be owning and maintaining the application portfolio within the IT estate. You will establish governance, assess applications and support decision making whilst reporting into the IT Operations Director.

    Client Details

    This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced Applications Manager to be responsible for providing clear ownership, governance and operational assurance across a large and complex application estate within a high‑profile public sector ifrastructure project.

    Description

    Manage the full lifecycle of applications, from acquisition, to merging, to retirement.
    Management of the application portfolio, including ongoing fitness-for-purpose reviews.
    Oversee 3rd line application support.
    Work closely with the service management team.
    Deliver demonstrable value for public money.
    Ensure applications align with needs and industry standards.
    Collaborate with stakeholders to implement upgrades and resolve issues.
    Develop and maintain documentation for application processes and workflows.
    Monitor application performance and identify areas for improvement.
    Work closely with vendors to manage contracts and service agreements.
    Ensure compliance with data security and regulatory requirements.
    Support the wider technology team in delivering strategic initiatives.
    Report directly to the IT Operations Director to support them within the project.Profile

    A successful Application Manager should have:

    Strong knowledge of application lifecycle management processes and a background in apps.
    Deep application and service management experience.
    Familiarity with technology systems and software implementation.
    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    Understanding of data security and compliance requirements.
    Experience with public-sector projects would be preferred, but not mandatory.Job Offer
