How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    A well-established and growing business delivering a record year in 2025 with a strong pipeline of new orders landing this year and next and involvement in high-profile flagship projects in the transportation sector! With over 50 years of heritage this is a close-knit and supportive team looking for some specific project support in a few key areas.
    Info about what the Controls Engineer role entails
    We are looking for x4 Controls Engineers to work on SCADA Systems design & integration for a variety of flagship projects including the design of remote terminal units for the 'field/front end'. With multiple positions and various projects ongoing, either SCADA design, HMI design configuring & building function blocks for the RTUs or PLC programming with Mitsubishis PLCs.
    Essential Requirements of the Controls Design Engineer
    * SCADA design experience - pulling together the I/O schedules, generating design reports, design drawings, schematics, schedules, documentation, writing of test specifications or physical testing from test specs.
    OR
    * Understanding of SCADA/HMI systems (either Codra Panorama or Mitsubishi Iconics) for the front end (they use both) configuring & building function blocks for the RTUs
    OR
    * Working knowledge of Mitsubishi PLCs (iQ-R, iQ-F/S or Q Series) and their integration within SCADA systems
    Desirable Requirements of the Controls Design Engineer
    * Experience working with RTUs within power or infrastructure environments, including exposure to systems such as Siemens, Telent, or ABB
    * Understanding of rail or traction power environments (e.g. Network Rail, Tyne & Wear Metro), including how end clients operate and manage control systems
    * Ability to develop and execute test strategies, including, Integration of RTUs and PLCs (e.g. Mitsubishi iQ-R)
    * Creation of FAT/SAT documentation
    * Production of design and test documentation
    * Customer facing experience
