How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Electrical Engineer

    Location: London (Central Office)

    They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their London office. You will be passionate about delivering excellence across complex, varied projects, with a strong focus on high-end residential design, while growing your professional expertise.     About the Role
    As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead electrical design across multiple projects, acting as the primary point of contact for external design teams and contractors. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of design packages, including concepts, calculations, drawings, specifications, and schedules. You will also supervise junior engineers, guiding their growth and sharing knowledge.

    This role combines technical leadership, project coordination, and mentorship within a multidisciplinary consultancy where no two projects are the same. You will gain exposure to a wide range of sectors, with a predominant focus on high-end residential, alongside commercial offices, education facilities, sports and leisure buildings, cultural and heritage projects, and complex infrastructure developments.

    Key Responsibilities

    You will lead the electrical engineering design on multiple projects from concept through to completion
    You will liaise with external design teams, contractors, equipment suppliers, and utility providers
    You will carry out electrical load calculations, LV infrastructure sizing, and software-based design assessments
    You will conduct renewable energy assessments and ensure compliance with sustainability targets
    You will produce complete design packages, including sketches, drawings, specifications, reports, and technical schedules
    You will supervise and mentor junior engineers, delegating tasks and sharing knowledge
    You will attend project meetings and site visits to ensure design intent is achieved
    You will ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, including Building Regulations, CIBSE, British Standards, and planning policies
    You will collaborate with mechanical and environmental engineers to ensure coordination across disciplines
    You will take initiative in project work, manage your workload, and communicate effectively with your line manager
    You will maintain continuing professional development (CPD) in line with CIBSE/IET requirements
    You will uphold the consultancy’s culture, vision, and internal standards

    Requirements

    Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer in building services
    Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline
    Experience managing junior engineers and delegating work
    Strong knowledge of building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, British Standards, and sustainability principles
    Competence in Revit/BIM, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and electrical design software such as Amtech, Eplan, Dialux, or PVSyst
    Understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, environmental design, fire and life safety, IT and smart networks
    Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
    Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and deliver under pressure
    Integrity, attention to detail, and a positive, approachable attitude

    Desirable / Development Opportunities
