How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Mechanical Assemble
    Sector: Manufacturing
    Location: Diss
    Employment Type: Full-time, temp to perm
    Pay Rate: £12.80 per hour
    Shift Pattern: Day Shift
     
    We're looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Diss. This hands-on role involves assembling mechanical components, operating tools and equipment, and ensuring every part meets high-quality standards.

    Working Hours

    Monday to Thursday: 07:30am - 16:15pm
    Friday: 07:30am - 13:30pm
    39 hours per week
    Pay Rate: £12.80 per hour
    Early finish every Friday for a better work-life balance  
    What You'll Be Doing

    Assembling brass and stainless-steel components to detailed specifications
    Following engineering drawings, process sheets, and bills of materials
    Using a range of tools and equipment including hand tools, power tools, and machinery
    Carrying out in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met
    Identifying faults or defects and taking appropriate action
    Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace What We're Looking For

    Previous mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience
    Ability to read and follow technical drawings and instructions
    Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
    Comfortable using tools and working in a hands-on environment
    Physically fit and able to stand for long periods
