How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction business delivering a residential development in Bridlington. The scheme consists of 54 affordable homes alongside an extra care apartment block, offering a fantastic opportunity to be part of a meaningful and community-focused project.

This role will suit a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of key project elements, supporting the successful delivery of works through effective cost control, procurement, and contract management.

    Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will support the commercial management of the project, working closely with site and project managers to ensure financial performance is maintained. You will be responsible for monitoring project costs, assisting with monthly forecasts, and identifying any variances against budget.

You will play an active role in subcontractor procurement, including preparing enquiries, analysing returns, and assisting with contract placement. Managing subcontractor accounts will form a key part of the role, including valuations, certifications, and payment processes.

You will assist in the preparation and submission of external valuations in line with contractual requirements, as well as supporting the management of these through to final account agreement. The role will also involve maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and contributing to cost value reconciliation.

Working closely with the wider team, you will help ensure compliance with contractual obligations and provide support on cost estimation and commercial processes where required.

    About You
The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, with a solid understanding of commercial processes and project delivery. You will have experience working with standard forms of contract such as JCT or NEC and a good understanding of both main and subcontract conditions.

You will hold an HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, or be working towards this. Strong numerical and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to manage workloads and communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

You will be proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally hold a valid UK driving licence and CSCS card.

    What’s on Offer
This role offers a salary of up to £50,000, alongside a competitive benefits package. You will have the opportunity to work on a high-quality residential scheme that makes a real difference to the local community, while developing your career within a supportive and growing business.

If you are a motivated Quantity Surveyor looking for your next opportunity, we would be keen to hear from you. Apply today or get in touch for a confidential discussion
